Below are the overarching UD mission statement, and the mission statement particular to the seminary.
1.Specifically name any places where you lift these up, make them known (or see these lifted up and made known).
  • Promotion applications. (happy to share these sections which explain how I engage UDs mission, others might do the same)
  • Faculty meetings.
  • The President's frequent mention of "the Mission" in emails and speaking.
2. Provide a line or two on how you see these specially reflecting our unique context and constituency.
  • "follow Jesus, Walk in the Spirit, Join God’s Mission and "Engaging the changing needs of the church and world." -- all point to the need for responsiveness to changing realities, as prompted by God and discerned in community.
  • As a multi-denominational, ecumenical community, we work toward being a "hospitable Christian environment" - something we did last August with particular intent through the Lecturer and other efforts.
  • Madison Learning Community is a particulary "diverse and equitable community where Christian love is practiced" - in part through the scholarships for students of color (50%).
3. And then note a point where you see the UD and UDTS missions as complementary.

  • stewardship is a shared commitment.
  • the UDTS mission specifically names "the Word of God" as an authority and source for our work and trajectory.
  • The UD mission expresses faith as commitments, practices, and stewardship, while the UDTS mission gives a more personal, dynamic and Trinitarian vision of living Christian faith as following Jesus, Walking in the Spirit, Joining God's Mission.
