The following is a prayer I find myself saying often. It was brought back from an early childhood pastor from his travels to St. Martin in the Fields. If only we could follow it, the world would be changed in the most positive of ways:
“O God, our heavenly Father, we pray for a vision. A vision of the world as your love would make it. A vision of the world where the weak are safe, and no one knows poverty or hunger. A vision of the world where life is simple, and benefits are shared for everyone to enjoy. A vision of the world where different races and nations, cultures and customs can live with reason and respect. With mutual respect. A Vision of the world where peace is built with justice and justice is guided by love. And Lord, give us the courage and faith and wisdom and will to build a world as you have led us to see it through Jesus our Savior. Amen!”
