Hi all,
My name is Landon Rohrer and at the time of writing, I'll turn 27 in four days. My wife and I have been married almost 3 years and we just had our first baby girl 10 days ago.
I currently serve as the Director of Student Ministries (Youth Pastor) in my local PC(USA) Church. I came to know Christ through a parachurch organization called Young Life. I went to college to earn a Biochemistry degree and be a volunteer Young Life leader while doing so. Along the way, I felt the Lord call me to ministry and said yes to working for Young Life and my current church. I did that for 2 years until I decided I wanted to work just for the church but still partner and work with Young Life.
In an effort to spend time with students outside of our church, I've been a football coach for years and just earned a position as my local high school's Director of Strength and Conditioning. I will be satisfying this role while maintaining my position at the church and attending seminary. It feels like a lot but my church has set me up well and given me the time/space to fulfil these various roles. My hope is to grow in my capacity to serve others, serve my church, and learn while in seminary so that I may become an ordained pastor.
A few fun things about me. I'm a state record holding powerlifter, type 1 diabetic, red-green color blind and I wear the colorblind glasses, and play guitar. Looking forward to my time at Dubuque!
