Courses at UDTS require approved and published course description and learning outcomes. For most courses, these items are already established and approved.

Course Descriptions

Every approved course in the UDTS catalog has an approved and published course description. You must use the provided course description for your course. You may add additional description information, but you may not remove approved language. Course descriptions can be found in the Seminary Catalog and Handbook

Course Learning Outcomes and Program Learning Outcomes

Every approved course in the UDTS catalog has approved course learning outcomes. Course learning outcomes are statements of outcomes to be achieved in learning within the course. At UDTS, course learning outcomes follow a formula that utilizes Bloom's Revised Taxonomy of Learning to describe the kind of learning that will be done and a description of what means and topics will be covered in that particular learning. They are meant to be measurable and fairly narrow to cover specific skills, knowledge, tasks, or similar executions of functions that demonstrate learning. Course learning outcomes will be provided for you in advance of your course planning. You may add additional course learning outcomes, but you may not remove any approved learning outcomes.

Program learning outcomes are learning outcomes to be achieved in a particular degree program. Courses are mapped into degree programs to ensure all program learning outcomes are achieved by learners across the curriculum. At UDTS, program learning outcomes follow the same formula as course learning outcomes. They are meant to be measurable and fairly narrow. A course must map to every degree program it is offered in. Program learning outcomes will be provided for you in advance of your course planning.
