Recommended Weekly Layouts for Course Pages
Course pages can be organized in any way that feels clear and concise for student learning. Below are some recommended options for laying out each week.
Description-Content-Engagement
- Use a Text and Media Area to add a heading and description of the week ahead. Include what students will gain from the content and engagement, what they can expect, and what they will be expected to do.
- Use either Text and Media Area or URL to add a video lecture that shares the week's lecture content with students.
- Use Document or URL to share the week's reading assignment(s) with students
- Use Forum, Quiz, or Assignment to create ways to engage the material
Step-by-Step Instructions--List of Resources
- Use a Text and Media Area to create a detailed list of step-by-step instructions, detailed how you would like students to encounter and engage the weekly learning materials
- Use Document, URL, Forum, Quiz, Assignment, or any other activity to list all learning materials below the instructions for students to access
Content-Engagement-Summary
- Use Document, URL, or Text and Media Area to add weekly lecture and reading content
- Use Forum, Quiz, Assignment to create ways to engage the material
- Use Text and Media Area or URL to add a summary of the week's learning in written or video format
