- Counselors and Medical Staff in the Smeltzer-Kelly Student Health Center:
- "The Smeltzer-Kelly Student Health Center provides a wide range of brain health services including individual and group therapy, teletherapy, and crisis intervention. Our brain health providers are here to assist students with managing stress, anxiety, depression, adjusting to college, time management, grief or loss, relationship issues, anger management, trauma, eating disorders, self-harm, and alcohol and substance use and abuse. A variety of therapeutic modalities are utilized to reach student identified goals." Quote taken from their webpage
- Technology Wizards in the Office of Technology:
- "The mission of the Office of Technology is to provide the University of Dubuque with information and educational technologies that support and enhance the effectiveness, productivity, and creativity of the entire campus community." - Staff team behind UD Cares. Mostly this is used as a mechanism for undergraduate faculty to connect a student they're concerned about to the right person (it goes to Nelson Edmunds who forwards to an appropriate party). Our faculty likely keeps student concerns in-house (refer to Emily Blue or faculty advisor, for example). However, UD Cares can also be used by students to report concern about a fellow student. I don't know if our seminarians know they can use this, but theoretically they could and Nelson would simply forward to Beth or Emily. https://www.dbq.edu/CampusLife/StudentServicesResources/UDCares/
- Of note: It is my understanding that the Academic Success Center does not have qualified tutors available to serve seminary students. This means there is no one to send students to for writing support. I wish for a tutor in the ASC prepared to help Seminary students.
