In both the English and Greek New Testament exegesis classes, students are asked to consider their own "world in front of the text," articulating elements of their own social location and ethnic, racial, and perspectives. They are also asked to engage the perspectives of other interpreters' "world in front of the text" and how this bears on celebrating a multiplicity of interpretations and interpretive frameworks. One of the assigned texts for these classes is always devoted to a global perspective on whatever New Testament book is being engaged.
