The Leading Worship class (MN501) has a long-standing assignment of doing a summary review of a text that explains Christian worship in a particular tradition: the Hispanic Church, the Black Church, the Asian-American Church, the Global Prayer Movement (the latter is particularly "global" in scope and not specific to any ethnic group or continent, but all representative texts make the point that there is huge diversity to be found within each branch of the church under consideration). The texts are self-selected according to the tradition with which the student is least (!) familiar. It is a consistently useful and broadening exercise, enlarging the student's sense of appreciation for the breathtaking diversity within the body of Christ and the faith we share in "The Church's One Foundation."
