Dr. Timothy M. Slemmons, Associate Professor of Homiletics and Worship
September 13 – October 18

Faith—whether congregation or individual—is only as healthy as its roots in the Word, only as solid as the ground in which it abides and which in turn grasps and nourishes its roots. Among a handful of other catechetical priorities, the Lord's Prayer is one topic or locus of preaching that has taken many forms, and while historically, every pastor has felt the obligation to preach on it, today few preachers take the trouble, for it is easy to assume memorization and frequent use signals sufficient evidence of understanding. This course seeks to reclaim this core responsibility of the preaching life: preaching the Lord's Prayer, and remind pastors of its often overlooked potential. This is a great opportunity to enhance your preaching by interacting with other pastors and engaging in conversation with Dr. Slemmons.
