This course is a study of the fundamentals of financial reporting and introduces business decision-making using accounting information. Students learn how business transactions are recorded in the accounting records of an organization and how to use various types of accounting information found in financial statements and annual reports with emphasis placed on analyzing, summarizing, reporting, and interpreting financial information. Upon completion, students should be able to prepare basic financial statements in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, understand the role of financial information in decision-making and address ethical considerations.
